Simple Mashed Potatoes Recipe (Resep Mudah Kentang yang Dihaluskan)

Today I try to give a "new post" to my blog, since next month is mylittlecreambutton's 3rd anniversary. Thanks God I can't believe it's been 3 years. ^^

I enjoy food so much especially western food and vegetables, I love cooking too, because I live faraway from my parents, I used to buy ingredients in local market every Sunday. But I'm not confident enough to share the recipes >_<

But not anymore! I will try to post at least once a week (on Sunday) my cooking experiment and it's recipe.
Everybody has their own way to make mashed potatoes. For the first time, I would like to share my simple mashed potatoes recipe, why it's simple? because I don't have potato masher nor potato ricer. For anak kost-an like me, I prefer the easiest way to cook ^^

What is mashed potato? It is a dish prepared by mashing boiled potatoes. Dehydrated and frozen mashed potatoes are available in many places. The main ingredients is potatoes, butter or vegetable oil, milk or cream (taken from wikipedia).
Preparation time : 10 min   Cook time : 35 min   Yield : Serves 2
Ingredients :
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • cheese (optional)
Equipment : Fork
Method :
  1. Add water to the pan until the potatoes are covered. Add plenty of salt if you want (I don't). Boiled for 25 minutes until you can easily stick a fork into them and they start to fall apart.
  2. Put the boiled potatoes in a cold water for one minute, it'll help you peel the skin.
  3. Mashed the potatoes with a fork, add butter and fluff it, pour the milk over it and mashed until it mostly smooth.
  4. Serve with boiled vegetables like carrot and corn or mix them together.
Tips :
  1. Don't covering the pan while boiled it, it will make the potatoes cook unevenly and too gluey.
  2. Heating the milk will keep the mashed potatoes hotter for longer.
  3. You can boiled the potatoes without cut it or peel it, but it will took some time to cooked. Simply cut it into dice size if you want.

 Happy Sunday Creamers! Hari ini aku pengen ngasih postingan yang "baru" untuk blogku, berhubung bulan depan mylittlecreambutton berusia 3 tahun, gka percaya udah 3 tahun aja blog ini ^^

Aku sukaa banget makan, apalagi makanan barat dan sayuran, aku juga lumayan suka masak (Baca : suka masak belum berarti bisa masak =,=), karena aku tinggal gak bareng ortu, jadi biasanya aku beli bahan-bahan memasak, sayur-sayuran di pasar setiap minggu. Kalo lagi padat-padatnya kegiatan biasanya beli aja, tapi kalo masak sendiri kan lebih bersih, bahan yang dipake juga terjamin, dan tentu aja lebih murah.
 
Aku kurang percaya diri awalnya untuk ngeshare resep-resep masakan yang aku udah buat, tapi gak lagi! Aku usahain ngepost 1 kali seminggu eksperimenku dan resepnya.Semua orang punya caranya sendiri masak mashed potatoes.Untuk resep pertama, aku akan nge-share resep mashed potatoes yang simpel, kenapa simpel? karena aku gak punya potato masher ataupun potato ricer. Dengan peralatan seadanya bisa kok bikin mashed potatoes.
 
Persiapan : 10 menit   Waktu memasak : 35 menit   Hasil : 2 porsi
Bahan-bahan :
  • 2buah kentang
  • 1/4 sdt garam (optional)
  • 1sdt mentega
  • 1/4 gelas susu
  • keju (optional)
Peralatan : Garpu

Cara membuat :
  1. Tambahkan air ke dalam panci sampe kentang tenggelam, tambahin garam kalo mau (aku sih gak pake garam untuk ngerebus kentangnya). Rebus sampai kurang lebih 25 menit sampe kalo ditusukin pakai garpu, garpunya dengan mudah lepas sendiri.
  2. Taruh kentang yang udah direbus di air dingin selama satu menit, nah ini tips untuk mempermudah ngelepas kulit kentangnya. FYI, dibalik kulit kentang itu banyak vitaminnya, jadi semakin tipis ngelupas kentangnya semakin baik. Kalo ayahku sama aku malah udah biasa makan kentang rebus sama kulitnya.
  3. Tumbuk kentangnya dengan garpu, tambahin mentega dan lumatin, tuang susu sedikit demi sedikit (jangan sekaligus) sampe semuanya menyatu dan jadi lembut.
  4. Sajikan dengan sayuran yang udah direbus kaya wortel dan jagung, atau bisa juga di-mix sekaligus.
Tips :
  1. Pas ngerebus kentang jangan ditutup pancinya, karena bikin kentangnya masak gak merata dan agak lengket.
  2. Panasin susu sebelum dituang ke kentangnya akan ngebuat mashed potatoes hangat lebih lama.
  3. Kentangnya bisa dipotong-potong dulu sebelum direbus, ini akan membuat waktu ngerebus lebih cepat. Tapi kalo aku lebih suka kentangnya tetap utuh.
